It’s not just hunting. They’re armed. They think.
” Don’t laugh at me Hawthorne.” She responded but laughed at well and shook her head, ” Nope haven’t tried that before!”
“Couldn’t help it,” he said with a smirk. “But, would you like to try? You don’t have to be near the animal to get it, like when you’re using a bow. With a snare, you just set it up, go away for a while, and after almost an hour, you come back and check if you caught something. It’s not really that hard.”
Peeta raised an eyebrow. ”Of course you are,” he said. ”So, Gale, what all have you been up to? Kill any baby deer lately?”
Gale looked at him. “No, but I have been setting up snares,” he replied. “What about you? Is your bread still keeping Katniss happy?”
” Couple of times when Katniss tried to teach me how to hunt, didn’t work that well.” Madge hunched her shoulders, ” Apparently my footsteps are too loud.”
Gale couldn’t help but grin and nodded a bit. “Yeah, that could be a problem.” He looked up at her. “Well, have you tried setting up snares before?”
” Of course, I should’ve known you were in those woods.” Madge said with a grin.
He smirked. “Have you ever been to the woods yourself?” he asked.
Gale sighed. “Fine. Might as well try to talk to you for once.” He looked at the other boy. “..So how are you doing?”
Peeta smiled at the boy. ”I’m doing pretty well, actually. How about you?”
He shrugged. “Just great as usual,” he replied, a bit too sarcastically.
